The heart of our modern problem. Our daily lives are crowded, our minds are continually taken away from the here and now, constantly focusing on a problem, a thought, an emotion. Often these things are merely distractions. They aren’t truly important. Certainly there are some things that are important and critical to our families and our daily lives but in this modern, crowded world it is quite often difficult to find the time to sort out the important from the unimportant. Then we come to our bodies. We find it difficult to give our bodies the attention they deserve. We eat when we find time and grab what we can. Convenience food, processed food. We do jobs which result in us sitting for long periods, often in incorrect postures. Many of us don’t even walk correctly.

Melatonin is a hormone, but you can take it in capsule form. This is available buddhism baltimore at most convenience stores and is much preferable to taking artificial sleep aids. Take melatonin 30 minutes before you plan to sleep, and you should feel drowsy. This is because melatonin is creating a sleeping potion effect. Some patients that suffer from insomnia do not have enough melatonin. They try to sleep every night, but they never feel sleepy. This is because their bodies do not produce any sleep potion, so they feel the same in bed as they do when fully awake.

And there are places where one can borrow consciousness raising sound and video tapes. There is a bookshop in the main office filled with tapes and books and things one might need. Some come for room and board but most are here for workshops and seminars.
If possible, join a meditation group. Meditation is much more fun in a group and you’ll find that others are finding the same learning curve as you are. Groups generate their own energy – the sum of the whole truly is greater than the sum of the parts. Joining a group can widen your circle of friends and can be a booster to your confidence. Depending on the group’s aim, you may also learn about different meditation techniques as the group progresses.
